Playing the Drukhari: Warhammer 40k Codex Summary



Drukhari

The Drukhari, also known as the Dark Eldar, are a faction in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. They are the dark kin of the Eldar and are known for their sadistic and ruthless nature.


The Drukhari are a highly mobile and fast army, they rely on speed and surprise to outmaneuver their opponents and make lightning strikes. They use webway portals, specialized teleportation devices, to outflank the enemy and appear where they are least expected. They're also skilled in raiding and raiding tactics, they hit fast, hard and then disappear before the enemy can react.


The Drukhari are a highly specialized army and have a wide range of units to choose from. They have fast and agile units like Reavers and Scourges, which excel in hit-and-run tactics, melee units like the Incubi, which are heavily armored and armed for close combat, and heavy support units like the Talos and Cronos, which are heavily armed and armored walkers. They also have specialized units such as the Haemonculi, who are master of pain and can enhance their units with various abilities and the Kabalite Warriors that are known for their accurate long-range fire support.


The Drukhari also have a unique resource system called "Soul Energy" that is generated by capturing the souls of their enemies. This resource is used to power their vehicles, equipment, and abilities, and adds an interesting twist to their game play.


Pros:

  • Speed and mobility: The Drukhari are a highly mobile and fast army, their use of webway portals allows them to quickly move around the battlefield and outflank the enemy. This makes them effective at hit-and-run tactics and allows them to get into position quickly to engage the enemy.

  • Specialized units: The Drukhari have a wide range of specialized units to choose from, such as the Incubi and Scourges, that excel in specific roles and can be used to great effect in the right situations.

  • Unique resource system: The Drukhari's Soul Energy resource system adds an interesting twist to their game play and can give them a unique advantage in certain situations.

Cons:

  • Fragile units: Many of the Drukhari units are fragile and can be easily taken out if they are caught by the enemy. This means that they need to be used carefully and protected to be effective on the battlefield.

  • Lack of heavy hitting units: Many of the Drukhari's units are geared towards hit-and-run tactics and lack heavy hitting units which can handle heavier armored or high-priority targets

  • Low durability: Their units are fast but also have lower durability, so they require protection and careful positioning to be effective in battle.

  • Dependence on capturing souls: Their resource system based on capturing the souls of their enemies, means that they may have shortage

To be effective playing the Drukhari requires tactical planning, positioning, and utilizing their strengths while avoiding their weaknesses.
